Spanish Guided Reading books were purchased using leftover Translation funds.  These books will be stored in the Book Room.  Another page has been added in the Teacher's Area with links to the Teacher's Guides for each title.

Mr. Metz got some new bilingual books that you may borrow for your classes.  These books have been added to a new Books page, located under under Resources.  Additional resources have been ordered, and will be added to this page when they arrive.

Additional Resources from colorincolorado.com have been added, as well as a link to a document related to the application of the Common Core Learning Standards to ELLs.

Check the Language & Literacy page for the updates.

An additional page has been added to the Teacher's Area containing the take-home versions of the books from the "Palabras de uso Frequente" kit that is shared between the Kindergarten and First Grade Classrooms.

Electronic versions of the Estrellita Class Records have been uploaded to the Estrellita page in the Teacher's Area.

Additional Estrellita Resources have been uploaded (silabas, palabras).  These resources, as well as other Estrellita Resources can now be found on their own page within the Teacher's Area.

Estrellita Resources (in the Teacher's Area) have been updated to include all of the Phonics Books and Game Resources.  The wall cards have been temporarily removed.  A cleaner copy will be uploaded soon, along with other resources from the program.

I have uploaded several new resources.  The Spanish translations of the Everyday Math Assessment Handbooks have been added to the Teacher's Area.  Links to WIDA's Can-Do Descriptors for ELLs have also been added under Language & Literacy Resources.  Additional resources related to Language Objectives, Academic Discussions and Academic Vocabulary have also been added.

Two New Sections

9/1/2011

In an effort to constantly improve the usefulness of the website, two new sections have been added under Resources:
- Technology
- Teacher's Area

The technology area includes a brief summary of Imagine Learning as well as a link to Milcuentos, which was sent to us by Stella Sanchez from the Estrellita pilot.

The Teacher's Area is password protected (password will be shared at our next Dual Language Meeting, or speak to Mr. Metz) so that we may upload resources that are only for use within the building, and may not be posted elsewhere on the internet.  I have added a link to the Google Docs version of the goals.  If you access the goals through this link, you DO NOT have to log in using a Google Account to access/edit the goals.  Additionally, and electronic version of  the "Sonidos Iniciales" Wall Cards has been uploaded there as well.

The entire site is new for the upcoming school year!  Although initially released in July, I've been trying to keep the site up-to-date, as I come across new resources.  After attending QTEL Training earlier this month, I have posted a Task Inventory under Language & Literacy Resources.  The tasks promote both social and academic language through cooperative groups and discussion opportunities.  Try one or two out, and let the Dual Language Team know what you think!
